About Us - School Overview

The Pearson Adult Learning Centre

The New Westminster School district is proud to have a Continuing Education program named after Lester B. Pearson, Nobel Peace Prize winner and Canada’s Prime Minister. The Pearson Adult Learning Centre, also known as PALC, has been welcoming learners from ages eighteen to eighty for more than 30 years.

The school supports the educational needs of a variety of adult learners including new immigrants, those wishing to learn English and for those interested in completing their high school graduation. Our goal is to provide a warm friendly environment to help our hard-working learners improve not only their academic skills and obtain a high school graduation diploma for post-secondary studies or employment, but also to gain relationships with others within the community.

New this year, courses will only be offered in the evening. Classes will run from 6:30-9:00pm Monday – Thursday. We have semester-based courses classes begin in the fall, winter/spring with classes twice a week.
